Manny, as we have nicknamed him, excels in dairy character just as his sire. In a moment of haste and with a need to cut our herd, I sold +B Twin Creeks Icy Hot +*S last year. Then I started seeing his daughters' udders and milk production - I realized that we may have made a mistake in letting him go. Before Icy left us, La Madrina showed signs of heat, so I bred her to him. I was so happy when we got a son and two daughters from Icy Hot this past spring. All were blue-eyed; the buckling and one doeling are white with a slight amount of pale gold. Of course, we decided to keep them. One of the doelings didn't make it, but we still have Manny and his sister, DesertNanny Icy Blue Mama Mia.

Manny, at the tender age of four months, was bred to our girl SevenFeathers and it appears that she has settled and due for early December kids. Feathers gave us BlueTailFly, sired by Icy Hot. Fly is showing extreme dairy character and a lovely udder. If Manny holds true to his sire and dam regarding dairy character and milkable udders, we have done the right thing in retaining him for our herd.
